Miss Angie’s Almond Sweet Tea ((aka Ladies’ Party Punch))
Finally, the perfect accessory to your ladies’ lunches, weekend brunches, showers, parties and tea parties! Yes, with the discovery of this Sweet Almond Tea, the search for the ‘perfect party punch” is over!
I have been looking for a special punch type of drink perfect for serving at showers, anniversary parties and church lady brunches. I want something fancy AND refreshing ((oh, and non-alcoholic)).
That sounds like a simple thing to find but if you cut out all ice cream punches ((something I personally think is gag, sorry if you love it)) & all berry/Sprite punches, then there is really nothing out there.
About two years ago, my dear friend Angie ((Gracie calls her Miss Angie)) served this tea for a ladies lunch. After the first sip, I was daydreaming about sticking a straw in the pitcher and claiming the whole thing for myself.
This week, I had the treat of getting Angie to make this tea again ((at my home)), while I snapped photos. She literally had it ready in 7 minutes, while chatting! So easy & delicious = winner!
This punch-tea has a few simple ingredients & two ingredient surprises:
- sweetened lemon instant tea mix ((sweetened with sugar or artificially – whichever you prefer))
- sugar ((or Splenda, agave or Truvia))
- boiling water
- frozen lemonade concentrate
- cold water
- almond & vanilla extracts ((I never thought of doing anything but baking with vanilla and almond extract! This kind of blew my brain!))
- ice
Thank you, Miss Angie, for sharing the perfect ((long-awaited)) party punch! Now, I must find an excuse to have some lady time so I can show off this recipe!!
Oh, and if you need a yummy brunch recipe to go with this punch, you MUST try my most popular recipe ((viewed over 40,000 times!!!!!)): Big Country Breakfast Bread Pudding. It will be like peas and carrots … you know -perfect together!
- 5 t sweetened instant lemon tea powder*
- 1 can of frozen lemonade concentrate
- 1 c sugar (or sugar substitute**)
- 2 c boiling water
- 10 c cold water
- 3-5 t vanilla extract***
- 3-5 t almond extract***
- In a large pitcher, combine tea mix, lemonade concentrate, sugar and boiling water. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Add cold water and extracts, stir to combine. Serve over crushed ice or chill and serve.
- *Angie says add more tea to taste if you want. You could even use brewed lemon tea and adjust the sweetness to taste.
- **Truvia, splenda and agave will work too. Angie used Truvia and is was tasty!
- ***If you prefer one flavor over another, feel free to use one extract instead of both (just double the amount of the single extract).
