For Sale ((by Emily)) :: Hand-Painted Oval Dish – Thun, made in Czechoslovakia, Bohemia region $37

From looking at these photos, you may think this lovely dish is more of a “soap dish” size. Well, it is delightfully bigger. Measuring 9″ x 5½” x 1¼”, this shallow bowl would make the perfect candy dish, or small relish dish — or how about the perfect spot for your keys — or wedding ring, earrings — or pocket change?

I estimate this dish to be from the late 1930’s to mid 1940’s. And if you want a little world history lesson, check out what was going on in the Bohemia region during this time period. Maybe that would explain the 4 black leaves hand-painted on an otherwise bright floral pattern.

I found this dish while thrifting in Napa – I hate to pass it on Bt I am working on letting go.
