• For Sale ((by Emily))  — Set of 4 Vintage Vera Newmann linen placemats 11.5″ x 16″

Based on my research, these gorgeous, earthy linens are dated to the 1960’s-70’s. I LOVE Vera Newmann’s work – and these my friends, are a wonderful example. The placement and formation of the birds is so full of motion and life. 

I love the contrast between the neutral tones, bright colors (which is a signature of Vera Newmann) would be a distraction for this design.  The simplicity of nature is the art.

The neutral color also goes with any decor – so that is a bonus! Art and function.

There are a few tiny black dots ((I am certain they will wash out)) on one placemat, shown below.

These placemats are duel purpose, simply fold twice and you have napkins instead of placemats. I purchased them as napkins actually – but after a closer look at the artwork, I think placemats would be the primary intention of the designer – allowing the scene of sparrows to be more fully enjoyed.
