**SOLD** For Sale ((by Emily)) :: Set of 6 Hearthstone Block Vista Alegre cups , “Capers” pattern made in Portugal – $30

This is a find! A set of six late 70’s early 80’s Vista Alegre porcelain ((china)) cups in the cute blue & green “Capers” pattern.

These cups are a “thing”. Prior to stumbling upon them, I had no idea — but after some extensive research running “the Google”, I learned a but of fun history about this company.

There are a lot of words – but the original company name was “Vista Alegre”. After acquiring some land ((I bet the land is gorgeous)) in Portugal, founder Marinha Grande received approval in 1824 from King D. Joao VI to begin fine porcelain production. That privately owned company is still in production today, gaining a few additional words to it’s original name : Hearthstone Block Vista Alegre.

The particular pattern  available for purchase is called “Capers”. Interestingly, there is a “Ginger” pattern & a “Paprika” pattern as well ((but I don’t have those…yet)).

Specifically for this set of 6 bowl-shaped cups, one handle has cracked away from the cup where it attaches at the  bottom. It is still firmly affixed to the top, which makes to almost unnoticeable – if it weren’t for the fact that I was “playing tea party”, I would never have noticed. It is a minor fix, needing a dot of porcelain grade super glue to restore it firmly to the cup.

The history of this little company is free to you, the set of 6 cups?

A bargain at $30 for the set. ((Check prices and you will see what I mean)).
