When I think of pot roast, I have two memories: First, as a kid, I kind of dreaded “pot roast” Sunday because sometimes (not always) the pot roast was so tough and dry. It was those tough & dry occasions that made me dislike roast […]
This little recipe needs to be tucked away for that moment dinnertime has snuck up on you. A semi-stocked pantry and fridge should have just about everything you need to get this yummy, satisfying meal on the table in under an hour — AND with […]
Well, if you are like me and short on time — this dinner is sure to save the day. Not only is it super easy to make, (thanks to a short-list of handy ingredients) it is also very tasty!
Hearty Italian Herbed Tomato & Meat Sauce w/ Semo Conchiglie ((Part 2 of 3 “Tasty Meals for Tired Travelers”))
Before you run for the hills, muttering things about how “Semo Conchiglie” is not among the list of things you consider making when you are tired, just take out those words and replace them with “Macaroni”. Thanks to T.J. Maxx, I have access to “fancy” noodles […]
If you have been following me on Instagram or Facebook, you may have caught a glimpse of our recent Spring Break family ski trip to Sipapu. We LOVE the family friendly nature of that fun, compact resort. It has a little something for everyone :: perfect for the little learning ones, challenging enough for the “men-folk” boys ((and “boy-folk” men too, haha)) who are breaking limits & barriers with every turn & great for cautious mommas who need to see their chicks at least every 14 minutes. When I was a little girl, mom was the den mother for my brother’s Webelo and Cub Scout packs – and by the simple fact that, at 6 years old, I had nowhere else to be, I accepted the honorary role of den sister. Truthfully, […]
Now, before I start telling you about this recipe, let me quickly tell you about the name of this recipe. It all started when I was struggling to heave this massive creation out of the oven. It was massively heavy because I was afeared feeding […]
A sign reading: “Necessity is the mother of invention” should be hung in my kitchen for sure — it totally describes my cooking life. It goes a little something like this: “What?!? it is 2:30 already?!? … Oh gosh. What am I going to make for dinner … that doesn’t make everyone cry or throw up??!” ((thinking, thinking)) “What is in the pantry?? ((there is some stuff)) What is in the fridge?? ((some essentials for sure)) I think I will have to hit the freezer ((dread — there is hardly enough time to thaw and cook those frozen bricks of beef))…” (more…)
