Asian Sweet Chili & Ponzu Glazed Oven-Roasted Wings
I recently shared another delicious version of wings HERE. These Asian wings are just enough different from the garlicky bacon and brown sugar wings — that my herd could not choose a favorite!
It was so easy making these 2 varieties of wings. Both were mixed and marinating within minutes. The trick to making these wings so speedily is having a few key ingredients on hand. In this case the sauces and fresh herbs were all I needed.
For these Asian Sweet Chili wings, I used:
- 1½ pounds of chicken wings
- 10 oz citrus ponzu ((or tamarin if you require gluten-free))
- 4 T sweet chili sauce
- ½ c chopped cilantro
- 2 T fresh thyme, de-stemmed & chopped
- 2 T fresh chopped chives plus 2 more T for garnish
- sea salt and fresh cracked pepper
I combined all of the ingredients & let them sit for 2 hours before roasting.
An important tip: turn the wings and sauce out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. It will make clean-up so much easier!
And just like with the previous wing recipe, bake at 425° for about 20-25 minutes until crisp. ((Oh and if you garnish with fresh chopped chives – it really perks these wings up!))
Well, I think you would have a hard time convincing me that wings can get any better than this!!
Aren’t they just gorgeous??
- 1½ pounds of chicken wings
- 10 oz citrus ponzu ((or tamarin if you require gluten-free))
- 4 T sweet chili sauce
- ½ c chopped cilantro plus 2 more T for garnish
- 2 T fresh thyme, de-stemmed & chopped
- 2 T fresh chopped chives plus 2 more T for garnish
- sea salt and fresh cracked pepper
- Preheat oven to 425°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine all ingredients into a medium mixing bowl & add a few dashes of salt and pepper. Allow to marinate for 2-4 hours before baking. Turn out onto the lined baking sheet & place in preheated oven for 25 minutes or until wings are crisp and golden.
- Garnish with chopped fresh chives & cilantro.
- I made two different types of wings for dinner - otherwise, I would double this recipe to serve my family of 6.
